Stena Match Cup Sweden

From the 2nd to the 7th of July this summer, the beautiful island of Marstrand became one of Sweden’s absolute hot spots. The reason was the renowned sailing event Stena Match Cup Sweden, one of the nations largest international sporting events. Stena Match Cup Sweden has official World championship status as one of the ten stages of the WC-series World Match Racing Tour.


With a hundred thousand plus visitors, Stena Match Cup Sweden made for a fantastic week for everyone with a passion for sailing and a golden opportunity for businesses to network and activate through sponsorships and activities.


Once again PS was given the honour to activate the Stena sphere during the Match Cup. This meant to look after their interests as title sponsor by creating interesting event spots for the visitors, spreading information and insights about the Stena sphere, and their core values.

Most notable this year was the interactive “world of Stena” shown on a 180° screen. Visitors could easily interact with the screen through a touch screen function using an interactive table as a form of intuitive menu and remote control. This interactive event surface displayed a broad range of content and used different types of media to depict all companies within the Stena sphere in an interesting and easy to grip manner.


A lottery wheel for Stena Metall used litter as stakes and had prizes made from recycled materials, as a way to display Stena Metall’s environmental engagement. This engagement also showed in Stena’s supervised event area for children, where recycled materials were used for arts and craft workshops. This event area was made in a close co-op with Childhood Foundation. Stena’s sponsorship was also activated trough branding at after sail areas, as well as a smart parking solution, simulating driving on board a Stena Line ship.

At Marstrand, PS also activated Audi by showcasing their new models S6, S7 and A3.

For those who couldn’t find time to visit the beautiful island, Stena Match Cup Bar was held at Incontro, right in the heart of Gothenburg’s event district. During the week all races were live-streamed and could be watched in a relaxed urban environment over a cold drink and tasty snack from the sailors menu.

VOLVO OCEAN RACE 2011 – 2012

In the Volvo Ocean Race 2011 – 2012 PS Communication was responsible for both the overall design of the Volvo Ocean Race Village and for the design, concept and digital content of the Volvo Pavilion in the race village. Our main challenges for the race village lied in communicating the values and character of the race, and for the pavilion to develop the emotional brand value of Volvo. The project also presented the challenge to recreate the concepts considering the varying conditions and transports between the different stopovers spread out all over the world.


Our solution for the race village was to create a concept following the same principles as the actual racing boats. Each component produced carried an association to race components or the character of the race, both in design and in content. We also designed a mascot in the form of an Albatross called “Wisdom”. For the Volvo Pavilion we created a brand experience rather than an exhibition space. We created a less-is-more atmosphere relying on experiences, branding and storytelling. All ingredients added to a versatile environment that easily adapted to different needs of meeting and greeting clients, prospects and employees – all within a Volvo brand atmosphere.

Tekniska Museet, Stockholm

PS has designed the ”100 innovationer” exhibition at Tekniska Muséet in Stockholm. It is designed and built around an area of almost 2000 square metres and is to be activated during a period of three years. The mission entails both the design of the exhibition itself as well as PR and the integration of sponsorship into the exhibition. The target group for the exhibition is the widest possible, with the age span of our intended visitors starting from ten year-olds going upward.
The public was invited to suggest and vote for what they considered to be the 100 most important innovations in the history of mankind. We then staged the results in a scenography of great contrasts built around the geometric form of a cube. Contrasting materials create dynamics in the raw atmosphere of the big hall where interactivity plays a major role in presenting the different innovations exposed. The result is an exciting, interactive and critically acclaimed exhibition that spans from ancient history to modern, high-tech solutions.
